Edinburgh- based laundry and dry-cleaning app, Laundrapp, announce plans for drone pickup and delivery service

The on-demand laundry service, Laundrapp, which has a base in Edinburgh, has announced plans to launch a new service that will see customer's laundry picked up and delivered by drone.

The award-winning on-demand laundry app, Laundrapp will work with its commercial suppliers to develop a new framework for a laundry drone delivery across the Capital and 15 other places in England where the app operates.

Laundry Drone hopes to achieve an environmentally friendly and economical service on Laundrapp which currently offers a quick pick up and delivery laundry service via a mobile app to Edinburgh customers.

Allan Warburton, Managing Director of Laundrapp, said: "Laundrapp has always been at the forefront of innovative technology, and the launch of 'Laundry Drone' is just another way we're working with our customers and partners to find ways to innovatively serve our growing customer base".

Laundrapp plans to set up a focus group with its customers, suppliers and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) to determine the safest way to operate the service before launch.

Warburton added: "We're committed to investing into the future of our services and our customers, and we're looking to open up the discussion with drone suppliers, safety experts and customers, the latter who will be able to trial the service when we launch”.Laundrapp collects, launders and returns items to the home or office within 48-hours.

The contact-free collection and delivery service cleans everything from suits, shirts and dresses to coats, baby clothes, bedding, towels, and other household items.

It recently launched a 60C hot wash laundry option to help destroy germs and fight against covid.
