Scotland house prices: how the cost of property has changed where you live

Scotland saw average house prices increase annually by 3.6% to reach £145,992, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.

By comparison, the average UK house price reached £226,071 over the year to November, an increase of 5.1% annually.

The area showing the largest annual growth in Scotland was West Dunbartonshire, where house prices increased by 10.3% to reach an average of £106,216.

Na h-Eileanan Siar saw the least growth north of the border, a -11.3% fall to see average house prices of £93,553.

The market in Edinburgh remains strong, with the average price rising 8.0% to £246,508.

Prices in Aberdeen continue to fall, with the average property now costing £163,489, down 4.2% on last year.
