How does Edinburgh's proposed new 8000-seater arena compare with existing venues?

At the moment, Glasgow’s Hydro holds the crown of Scottish arenas.

With a capacity of 13,000 for many big bands its the venue of choice, although selling that many seats is no mean feat, which can see many well known bands playing to a less than full auditorium and with every empty seat so the atmosphere is diminished. Sometimes smaller is better, not that you could call the capacity of the proposed 8,000 Edinburgh Arena small.

Here’s how it compares with some of the Capital’s other 1,000+ capacity live music venues.
