Edinburgh health store’s efforts to make vanity fairer

Jan de Vries Edinburgh is inviting customers to celebrate the launch of a new vegan skincare range from INIKA at its shop in Queensferry Street.

As one of the first health stores in the country to hold the collection, it hopes to promote the environmental and ethical reasons for choosing plant-based beauty products.

Available from next week, INIKA Organic’s plant-infused Phytofuse Renew and Phyto-Active skincare is expected to build on the success of the
Australian brand’s award-
winning make-up range.

Store manager Lizzie Nightingale says: “Here at Jan de Vries we have always been passionate about using natural products internally as well as topically.

“Over the past couple of years, we have noticed a rise in the demand for natural and vegan make-up/skincare and offer our customers a wide range of suitable products. Customers are now understanding the impact of chemicals on their health and their skin.

“As well as this, people are more aware of the environmental benefits and ethical reasons for choosing vegan. We are a strong believer in supporting our customers to lead a healthier and more natural life.

“All INIKA ingredients are ethically sourced, cruelty-free and vegan, giving you the option to choose a skincare range that is kind to skin and kind to nature.”

The store is accepting bookings for 30-minute facials during next week’s launch event, as well as free hand and arm massages and mini makeovers. Performed by INIKA therapists, the facials cost £25 and are redeemable against any INIKA product. The mini makeovers are offered courtesy of holistic and sustainable make-up artist Sjaniël Turrell.

The launch party takes place in store on March 12 from 9.30am to 6pm, with talks and vegan refreshments available throughout the day. For further information and bookings email [email protected] or visit www.jandevrieshealth.co.uk
