To help Project Wingman offer the full experience, Scotmid is donating snacks including cereal bars, biscuits, fruit, porridge pots, tea, coffee, juice and milk.

The community retailer has committed to supporting a number of Project Wingman lounges across Scotland.

Harry Cairney, Scotmid President said: “NHS staff are working day and night on the front line of the coronavirus crisis.

“The moment we heard about Project Wingman, we wanted to help. Our contribution is just a small gesture to say thank you to the NHS staff at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for everything they are doing.”

Emma Henderson, co-founder of Project Wingman said “We are so blessed to have the support of Scotmid and for all the incredible donations we have received so far.

“Scotmid’s generosity in committing to providing regular contributions to our lounges mean that they are also directly helping to support our NHS Heroes by ensuring that we always have a cup of tea and delicious treat to go with the listening ears provided by our own volunteers.

“We are so grateful for their support throughout all our lounges in Scotland.”
