9. Harris
The Isle of Harris is known for its spectacular beaches, like Luskentyre - thought to be one of the best in Scotland. With the clear turquoise waters, white sands, and mountains rising from the sea, you can see why. Harris has inspirational scenery and a strong connection to the arts. Joined to Harris, the Isle of Lewis is steeped in history. It has ancient stone circles, deserted beaches and a rich viking heritage. Gaelic is spoken widely and there are plenty of 'wildlife cruises' and boat trips from here. There's no wonder it was named best island in Europe on TripAdvisor.
