12-year-old boy and 38-year-old man taken to hospital after motorcycle collides with bike in Bathgate

Two males were taken to hospital yesterday evening after a motorcycle collided with a 12-year-old boy on a bike.

The incident happened on Sunday evening in the Boghall area of Bathgate where a 38-year-old man on a motorcycle and the child were involved in a crash.

Images captured by a dashcam in the area show the police in attendance at the incident at 6:50pm.

The extent of both males’ injuries are currently unknown.

Police are at present continuing their enquiries surrounding the crash.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "At 5:20pm on Sunday 6 September, police attended a road traffic crash involving a cyclist and a motorbike at the junction of Whitelaw Drive and Marina Road in Bathgate.

"The 12-year-old male cyclist and 38-year-old male motorcyclist were taken to hospital by ambulance. Enquiries continue."

Scottish Ambulance have been contacted for comment.
