Abbatoir bolt gun stolen

A GUN has been stolen from an abattoir in the Lothians, prompting an appeal for information by police.

The captive bolt gun and cartridges, serial number 12445, was taken from Vion Hall Foods, Broxburn, some time between 2.30pm last Thursday and 10am on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said: “It is a lethal weapon if used against humans, so it is vital anyone with any information contacts police urgently on 0131-311 3131.”
