A PLANE bound for the Capital was embroiled in a terror scare last night after a passenger claimed people armed with knives were on board.

Police surrounded the Aer Lingus flight at Dublin airport minutes before it was due to depart for Edinburgh.

The man who made the claim in a note passed to the flight attendants was removed from the flight and detained under the Mental Health Act.
