Appeal for raid witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses following a housebreaking in Midlothian.

The incident happened sometime between 7pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday at an address in Park Road, Newtongrange.

The homeowner returned to find the property had been entered and various items including jewellery, computer equipment and other electrical goods had been stolen.

Officers are now urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “This incident has left the victim upset at the theft of her belongings and we are keen to speak with anyone who can assist with our inquiries.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the Park Road area on Saturday evening or Sunday morning is asked to contact police immediately.”
