Home to Scotland’s largest watersports centre, Port Edgar Marina – located in the shadow of the Forth bridges –will become a year-round visitor and leisure destination once the improvement works are complete.

The plans will see the enhancement of the existing 300-berth marina with new shops and food outlets.

Marina bosses also said they were committed to achieving the 5 Anchor Standard under the prestigious Yacht Harbour Association’s global accreditation scheme. They are working with GLM Architects on the development of their masterplan.

Russell Aitken, managing director at Port Edgar, said: “Over the past year, we’ve secured the future of the marina as a sailing destination by dredging the harbour, bringing in a mobile crane and improving the security, lighting and access to the slipway for boat handling.

“By upgrading our facilities, we’re opening up the marina to a much wider audience.”

He added: “Port Edgar has a rich and varied history and we’re making sure that it has an exciting future.”
