Blaze-hit post office reopens

A POST office that has been closed for nine months after being badly damaged in a fire is due to reopen next week.

West Granton Post Office branch was forced to close in January after a fierce blaze tore through the property and left severe smoke damage.

The store was closed to allow extensive repair works to be carried out at the site, leaving the community without access to services.

Brian Turnbull, field change advisor for Post Office Ltd, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to re-open this post office service in West Granton.

Post office services are extremely important for the community and this branch is a vital asset to the local area and allows them once again to have access to the same range of post office services.”
