Bob rings the changes on royal yacht

Bob Downie, chief executive of the Royal Yacht Britannia, was giving the ship’s bell a final polish as it prepared to reopen to the public today after being repainted.

The yacht is now back in its permanent berth in Edinburgh after it was moved to a dry dock last month for maintenance.

During the move on January 6 fire crews had to be called because the boat started taking on water from a leak in a door seal. It was the first time the vessel had moved in 14 years.
