Boy, 14, charged over Muirhouse church fire

A FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the fire which gutted St Paul’s Catholic Church in Muirhouse at the weekend.

Police said the boy would be reported to the Children’s Reporter and inquiries were continuing to trace other people thought to have been involved in the incident.

The church closed in October despite protests from parishioners who fought to keep it open. Firefighters used two turntable ladders to tackle the blaze on Sunday night.
