One lane has been closed and temporary traffic lights put in place along Queensferry Road, where repairs are taking place opposite South Learmonth Avenue.

The works are being carried out on behalf of ScottishPower, and are due for completion by Thursday night.

Drivers reported being held back along the road for up to two miles as a result of the lane closure – with congestion stretching from the Orchard Brae junction to Craigleith Road.

The delays are said to have been further compounded by unrelated works that are currently taking place along neighbouring Comely Bank Road.

A four-day tree-felling operation has shut the road off completely during off-peak hours between North Park Terrace and Portgower Place. Those works are scheduled for completion on Friday by 3.30pm.
