Capital has ‘real buzz’ for workers

The Capital remains a “huge draw” for people who want to work in hospitality, according to the boss of one of the city centre’s leading hotels.

Carina Svensen, general manager of the Hotel Missoni, said that the city has a “real buzz” that encourages people in to work.

Ms Svensen also praised how well organisations work together to promote the city.

She said: “We work very closely with VisitScotland, Marketing Edinburgh and the city council to promote Edinburgh as a destination. There’s always room for improvement but, in my experience, the city communicates better than most.

“I also think the city is a huge draw for people looking to work in the hospitality industry, and there seems to be a high standard of people out there with the right skills and attitude.

“As a thriving city, it has a real buzz and is a place that people want to come to work and want to stay.”
