Lang Loan Crash: Driver and passengers traced after car 'metres' from smashing into home
A woman has attended hospital for treatment following the crash in which a car came “metres” from hitting a home
A driver and passengers who left the scene of a Thursday night crash which saw a car narrowly miss a house have been tracked down by police.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash at around 9:10pm yesterday evening after a serious two-vehicle crash saw a car shunted off Lang Loan near its junction with Lasswade Road.
Pictures and footage captured at the scene showed two smashed up cars, one with its bumper completely destroyed and the other, a private hire vehicle, with significant damage.
Steven Scott, who lives close by, said: “I didn’t see the accident but my neighbour phoned me to tell me there had been a crash and a car had almost hit her house.

“I got home and they’d cordoned off the whole area, it looked like a serious crime scene. The taxi driver was being looked after by paramedics in an ambulance for quite a while.”
When police arrived at the south Edinburgh street the driver and passengers of one of the vehicles had already left but were traced shortly after.
Alongside the taxi driver’s road-side treatment, Police say a woman attended hospital for treatment.
The road has since reopened after being briefly closed following the accident, with police currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Recounting the incident, an eye-witness said the blue Hyundai was shunted across a grassy area, before coming to stop within metres of the house.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 21:33 to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Lang Loan, Edinburgh.
“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The driver and occupants of one of the vehicles left the scene prior to police arrival. They were traced a short time later, and a woman attended hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
