Car transporter hits low rail bridge in Edinburgh

A distributor lorry which was carrying a number of cars struck a rail bridge in the east side of Edinburgh today.

The accident, which resulted in the transporter becoming stuck under the bridge, happened on Sir Harry Lauder Road at about 11am this morning.

Police were called to the scene and temporary diversions were put in place, but the lorry has since been removed.

A police spokeswoman said there were no injuries as a result of the collision and that no ambulance was required.
