Cash rules to change

WEST Lothian Council is alerting lone parents to new rules coming into force about Income Support.

Income Support for lone parents will soon only be paid if the youngest child is under five.

Executive councillor for social policy, Isabel Hutton, said: “We are keen to alert parents who may be in this position of the changes. It is thought that many lone parents with children over the age of five will need to make a claim for Jobseekers’ Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance.”
