CCTV images released after Viewforth convenience shop robbery

POLICE in Edinburgh have released CCTV images of a man that officers would like to speak to in connection with a robbery in the Bruntsfield area of the city.

The incident happened around 8.55pm on Monday 26 October 2015 at the News 4 U convenience shop in Viewforth when a 46-year-old woman was working alone within the premises.

Officers believe that the man shown in the images may be able to help them with their enquiries and anyone with information that can assist with the police investigation is asked to come forward.

The male is described as being white, 5ft 9ins tall with a slim build.

Detective Constable Kevin Walls said: “While the shop worker was not injured, this was a frightening experience, which resulted in the theft of goods from her store.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the News 4 U shop on that Monday evening should contact police immediately.”
