Changes fear over council

A COMMUNITY councillor has raised concerns about a shake-up of the city council’s city development department.

Councillors have passed a series of changes that will see many city development staff being transferred to the services for communities department.

Planning, transport, public safety and building standards are among areas to move.

Paul Beswick, chairman and planning officer of Tollcross Community Council, said: “This does seem a strange move as there has been so much talk of linking planning with economic development.”
