Charge over robbery bid

A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged with an alleged assault and attempted robbery at a city takeaway.

The owner of the Sunrise takeaway in Niddrie Mains Road suffered a cut to his hand during the incident on August 18. However, no items were stolen.

A police spokesman said: “Enquiries are continuing to identify a second man believed to be involved and anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward.”
