Christmas Cheer choir spread festive goodwill across Capital

CHRISTMAS was well and truly in the air after a group of talented young singers swapped their classrooms for an open top bus to help spread festive cheer across the Capital.

Travelling in a specially-decorated double-decker laid on by Lothian buses, the talented City of Edinburgh Music School singers first stopped at Waverley Station, where they sang a number of carols to passing travellers.

A whistlestop tour of Princes Street and Lothian Road followed, with the group finishing up with a flash mob style performance outside the Capital’s iconic Usher Hall.

The unique festivities mark the start of several weeks of Edinburgh Cheer activity, in which we are calling on the public to do whatever they can to help people in need this festive season.

As well as NHS Lothian, the Evening News has teamed up with longtime rivals Hearts and Hibs, with both clubs set to lay on a host of events over coming weeks in which the public are invited to take part.

A number of local charities and organisations will also receive help to host their own Christmas events all over the city. We will keep you updated on what is going on and the ways in which you can help.
