City has twice as many cyclist deaths as Glasgow
The shock statistic is revealed on a map showing the locations of the 41 fatal car crashes across Scotland from 2009 to 2013. Six cyclists were killed on Edinburgh roads in that period, while three lost their lives in Glasgow.

Recent fatal incidents in the city involved collisions with taxis, lorries and cars near Murrayfield Stadium and the Western General. They included the death of 75-year-old Audrey Fyfe, who was knocked off her bike in Portobello in 2011. Her family have since called for tougher sentences for careless driving.
