Community hub refit close to completion

A £1 MILLION project to create a new community hub in Livingston is on course to be completed by the middle of next month.

Sheil House, in Craigshill, will incorporate community support, information and advice services.

The existing library at Almondbank will also relocate to the new premises.

The Daisy Drop In and Citizens Advice Bureau are to move in to the building while other community groups based in Craigshill, including the West Lothian Drug and Alcohol Project, have been approached with a view to relocating there.

The building is also set to be renamed the Almondbank Centre, after consultation with the community council.

The names Almondbank Community Hub, Almondbank Partnership Centre or Almondbank Community Centre were rejected.
