Consul marks Spain’s day

The Spanish Consulate has celebrated “Día de la Hispanidad”, a national celebration of Spain, by tucking into traditional cuisine at the Barcelo Carlton Hotel.

The consul general, Javier Jiménez-Ugarte, invited dignitaries to a paella lunch to celebrate the occasion.

Guests at the event included the Scottish Government’s director general for external affairs, Ken Thompson, Lord Justice Clerk, Brian Gill, deputy presiding officer Elaine Smith MSP and the principal of Edinburgh University, Timothy O’Shea.
