Council event costs studied

Councillors are to be asked whether nearly £400 should be spent sending a city representative to a national conference.

Local authority group Cosla has arranged its annual conference for February 16 and 17 in St Andrews. It would cost £395 for a residential place at the event, or £180 to send a “day delegate”.

Councillors will make a decision on Thursday.

Speakers at the event include finance secretary John Swinney, Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont and Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie.
