64-year-old Lothians man assaulted at Linlithgow Loch

An assault on a 64-year-old man at Linlithgow Loch on Monday, May 4, has prompted a police appeal.

Detectives have asked for any witnesses to come forward after the man was approached by two youths at around 8:30pm that evening.

Officers said the man was assaulted by one of the youths and pushed to the ground - but did not suffer injuries in the attack.

The first suspect is in his early 20s, white, 5’7” tall, with a medium build and short light brown hair. He had an earring and was wearing dark clothing.

Police say the second suspect is in his late teens, white, 5’7”, with short curly hair. He was wearing dark clothing and baggy black Adidas tracksuit bottoms.

Detective Constable Barry Carlin, of Livingston CID, said: “We are looking for the public’s assistance to help trace those involved.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and has any information about what happened to get in contact with police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3554 of Monday, 4 May.
