Armed police were involved in a morning raid on a street in West Lothian town Blackburn where singing sensation Susan Boyle lives, reports the Scottish Sun.

Local residents reported seeing squad cars appear on the street at around 6am on Thursday morning.

The Scottish Sun reported that residents were told to stay in their homes by the police.

The police have said that the incident was a pre-planned raid and that there was no danger to the public.

A police spokesperson has said: “Officers, including specialist resources, attended an address in Blackburn around 6am on Thursday, 18 June in relation to an ongoing enquiry.

"Nobody was arrested and nothing recovered.

"The activity was planned and there was no risk to the wider public."
