Brazen thief caught on camera in Edinburgh Five Guys restaurant where he stole worker’s Apple Watch and wallet

A brazen thief was caught on camera walking around a city centre fast food restaurant where he stole a wallet and Apple watch belonging to a staff member.

Stefania Izabela shared an image and CCTV footage of a suspect inside the Five Guys restaurant in Frederick Street, shortly after 1pm on Tuesday, on social media – and appealed to anyone who recognised the man to contact her.

In a Facebook post she wrote: “He’s stolen my Apple Watch, wallet with all my cards, ID etc and earphones from the changing room in Five Guys, where I work.

“The cards and ID are in the name of STEFANIA-IZABELA SAI.”

In a later post, she said they managed to track the man down to an address he was at because he kept turning on the Apple watch. She said she now has her watch back but is still without the wallet and earphones.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, 15 June, we received a report of a theft from a business premises in Frederick Street, Edinburgh. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Five Guys has also been contacted.
