CCTV images released following Corstorphine attempted robbery

CCTV images have been released following an attempted robbery in Corstorphine where a man tried to steal from a woman before making a getaway.

At around 12:20pm on Thursday 10 May a woman withdrew money from the Post Office ATM on St John’s Road and then walked towards the Centurion Bar at which time an attempt was made to steal from her.

The suspect then made off from the area.

Police are looking for the man pictured and are also seeking a silver-coloured saloon car in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Joyce Gunderson from Corstorphine CID: “The victim was uninjured during this incident, but we are treating this matter very seriously and are eager to trace the male and the car in the CCTV footage as part of this investigation.

“Anyone who can assist with our inquiries should contact police immediately.”
