Corstorphine incident: blood-stained clothing recovered from scene undergoing laboratory analysis

The piece of blood-stained clothing was discovered at Corstorphine Hill at about 9.30am on Tuesday, 20 October.
Police have sealed off part of the woods where the garment was found and continue to carry out investigations in the area.

Hide AdConcerned residents nearby reported seeing about a dozen police cars and vans surrounding the park when investigations began yesterday.
Officers said at present no other related items have been found and the blood-stained item of clothing is in the hands of specialists at a laboratory.
A police spokeswoman said: “Searches are continuing in the Corstorphine Hill area today following the recovery of a piece of clothing in that area yesterday.
"The clothing has been sent to the lab and is undergoing further analysis and enquiries are ongoing.
