Dalkeith police boost plain-clothed patrols after string of anti-social incidents

Police in Dalkeith have pledged to increase foot patrols by uniformed and plan-clothed officers, after a string on anti-social incidents were reported in the town.

The force said it will focus its efforts around Kings Park and the Morrisons supermarket on Eskbank Road.

The news comes after police clashed with a large number of young people from the public park on the evening of Saturday, February 27.

Officers arrested four youths while dispersing the crowd.

All four were later charged in relation to anti-social behaviour offences.

A spokesperson for the Midlothian Community Action Team thanked the public for their help battling the issue.

They said: "Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and will be dealt with by appropriate measures.

“Enquires are being carried out to identity those who are responsible.

They added: “I would also like to reassure the residents of Midlothian we will continue to tackle this type of behaviour".
