Dalry armed robber flees empty handed

The incident happened at around 8.25pm yesterday on Bryson Road, Dalry.
Two members of staff were working in Shop ‘n’ Save when a man presented a knife before demanding they hand over various items of property.

Both of the employees refused and the man ran off westwards along Bryson Road.
Officers are now conducting inquiries to trace the suspect and anyone who can help identify him is asked to come forward.
He is described as white in his late teens to early twenties, 5ft 10ins tall with a slim build and wearing a black hooded jacket with a white baseball cap underneath.

Hide AdHe wore a dark scarf over his face, light grey cotton Adidas jogging bottoms with three dark stripes on the legs, black trainers and black gloves.
Detective Constable Joyce Gunderson from Corstorphine CID said: “The shop staff were not injured and thankfully the suspect was unable to rob the store of any goods.
“Nevertheless we are keen to trace this individual as soon as possible and anyone who can help us locate him should contact police immediately.
“In addition, anyone who saw any suspicious activity on Bryson Road on Monday evening is also urged to get in touch.”
