Dalry Road incident: Crews called to tackle fire at Edinburgh property

A fire broke out at a fast-food restaurant in Edinburgh leading to the closure of a main road.

Crews were called to the building in Dalry Road after reports of a fire at about 9am on Friday, 26 March.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed flames were coming from a fast-food restaurant on the street.

Three fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze which was extinguished at about midday. There were no injuries reported in the incident.

An SFRS spokeswoman said: “Fire crews responded to a fire at a fast-food restaurant in Dalry Road.

"Three pumps were sent and a ladder appliance was used.

"The fire was extinguished and crews left the scene at 12.21pm.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called around 9.05pm to a report of a fire at a business premises in Dalry Road, Edinburgh.”
