Dash-cam footage appeal after man knocked off scooter in Edinburgh hit and run

A man riding an electric scooter in Edinburgh had to go to hospital for treatment after being knocked off by a car which failed to stop at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses of a road crash to come forward and assist in their enquiries after the 26-year-old man was knocked off his scooter last weekend.

Hide AdThe man was riding an electric scooter when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop while he crossed the road. The incident happened at the junction of Great King Street and Dundas Street at around 9.45pm on Friday September 18.
Officers from Edinburgh Road Policing Unit are looking to hear from anyone who may have information that will help them identify the vehicle that hit the rider.
Inspector Roger Park said: “Since this crash was reported to us, we have been carrying out enquiries to establish more details on this incident, and we are working to identify the vehicle involved and trace its occupants.”
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who was driving on this road around the time of the crash on Friday evening who has dash-cam footage to get in touch, as they may have information that will help our investigation.”

Hide AdThe man returned to his home after the accident before making his way to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where his injuries were treated. The police were informed of the incident following his release from the hospital.
