Disqualified driver arrested in Edinburgh after being caught speeding and with cannabis

They will be taken to court.

A driver stopped by police for speeding has been arrested after they were found to be banned from driving, and also in possession of cannabis.

The driver was stopped by police in Edinburgh yesterday for driving over the speed limit.

They were arrested when officers discovered they were disqualified from driving, as well as having cannabis in the car.

The stop was one of a number of checks carried out by road police in the city yesterday as part of the 'Edinburgh Speed Focus' campaign.
