Door-to-door 'salesman' arrested over Lothian house theft

A man pretending to sell cleaning products to residents at their homes has been arrested and charged with theft.

The criminal was going door-to-door in the Eskbank area of Dalkeith pretending to sell goods and attempting to gain entry to homes.

The male was traced and arrested on January 21 in respect of a theft from a home and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on a later date.
