Door-to-door 'salesman' arrested over Lothian house theft
A man pretending to sell cleaning products to residents at their homes has been arrested and charged with theft.
The criminal was going door-to-door in the Eskbank area of Dalkeith pretending to sell goods and attempting to gain entry to homes.
The male was traced and arrested on January 21 in respect of a theft from a home and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on a later date.
Midlothian Community Officers continue to disrupt such offending and incidents can be reported using 101 or an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
