A driver has been caught texting while on the Edinburgh city bypass - with hands off the steering wheel.

Officers from the Dalkeith Road Policing Unit were patrolling the A720 on Friday afternoon when they saw a driver texting on their mobile phone – with both hands.

The driver was not holding the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to weave.

Police confirmed the driver had been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for dangerous driving.
