Driver caught texting on Edinburgh city bypass with hands off steering wheel

A driver has been caught texting while on the Edinburgh city bypass - with hands off the steering wheel.

Officers caught the driver with no hands on the steering wheel

Officers from the Dalkeith Road Policing Unit were patrolling the A720 on Friday afternoon when they saw a driver texting on their mobile phone – with both hands.

The driver was not holding the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to weave.

Police confirmed the driver had been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for dangerous driving.
