A 15-year-old boy has been arrested following reports of a disturbance at an address in Haddington on Monday morning.

Police were called at around 9:05am to the incident at Dobsons Walk which involved a teenage girl.

Locals in the area told the Edinburgh Evening News that the girl was taking the bins out when she was ‘attacked’.

She was taken to hospital and required treatment for a cut on her hand but it is understood she suffered other injuries.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police were called at around 9:05am yesterday morning following reports of a disturbance at a property in Dobsons Walk.

“A teenage girl was taken to hospital and required treatment for her hand but the injuries were not life threatening.

“A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
