An appeal has been launched to trace a woman who may have taken footage of an assault in Edinburgh in which a woman was pushed to the ground.

It is understood the woman was a witness to the attack, which took place in the Easter Road area of the city around 3.45pm on Friday, 15 November.

The victim, a 23 year old woman, was crossing the road and was assaulted by a separate woman, who was initially within a vehicle on the road. The suspect exited her vehicle, ran at the victim and pushed her to the ground causing minor injuries.

Police have identified that a woman who was standing nearby witnessed the incident and may have taken a photo or mobile phone footage of it.

Officers believe she may have vital information that could assist their investigation.
