Edinburgh crime news: Prisoner who escaped hospital while under police custody still missing after two days

Officers in the Capital have confirmed that the prison who escaped custody on Sunday is still missing.

The 22-year-old prisoner escaped from the hospital where he was under police custody.

He has now been missing for two days, and officers have confirmed they are still attempting to trace him.

They have not yet identified him.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30 pm on Sunday, 16 October 2022, a 22-year-old man escaped from the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh whilst under police custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace him.”
