Eye-witnesses reported seeing up to 15 officers speaking to a group of men who were sitting on - and standing by - a wall behind the Wonder World Softplay, close to the supermarket in Duke Street.

One passer-by said: "It looked like around 40 people were gathered on the wall outside Tesco - they had take-away beer which looked like it had come from a pub.

"The crowd weren't youngsters, I'd say they were between 50 and 70-years-old."

Pictures from the scene show officers speaking with some of those involved, and some appear to be holding or drinking beer.

Under the Scottish Government's first phase of lockdown easing, people are allowed to meet outside with one other household, in a group of no more than eight, while maintaining social distancing.

Public gatherings are not allowed.
