Edinburgh police fear missing teen may have travelled to Glasgow

The 17-year-old went missing from Livingston this morning.

Police have asked for the public’s help to find a missing teenager who is new to Livingston and may not know the area well.

Vietnamese-born Khuong Hoang Van, who is not fluent in English, went missing from Ladywell in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, May 19).

Officers think Khuong may have travelled to the West of Scotland, though they do not believe he is carrying money.

Inspector Brendan McMahon, Livingston Police Office, explained: "We believe that Khuong, who speaks little English, is new to Livingston and therefore may not be familiar with the town.

“We don't believe he has any money or a phone with him but it's possible he's travelled, most likely by train, to the west of Scotland, possibly Glasgow.

"We would appeal to anyone who may have seen him or who has information about where he is to call police. We need to make sure he is ok and have him come back to where he was staying.

Khuong is around 5’4” tall, slim, and has brown eyes and short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a brown top and jacket, black jeans and blue Crocs.
