A police presence descended Oxgangs Avenue after they received a report of an assault and a missing person.

Police Scotland confirm that they received the call at 11.10 am on Sunday, May 24.

A resident told the Edinburgh Evening News police were going 'door-to-door' as they carried out their investigations.t:

In a statement, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “No assault appears to have taken place and officers were carrying out inquiries to locate the missing man who has now been traced.”
