Edinburgh police seek witnesses as man, 35, left with 'serious' head injury in attack outside Leith pub

A 35-year-old man was left with a serious head injury in an attack outside a pub in Leith.

Police said the serious assault happened outside Spey Lounge in Leith Walk at around 1am on Thursday, August 27 - and officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The victim was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to the head injury..

The suspect is believed to be male.

Detective Inspector Clark Martin, of Edinburgh CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and witnessed the assault but has not yet spoken to police to come forward.”

He also asked anyone driving in the area with dash-cam to check back for any relevant footage..

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting reference number 0307 of 27 August, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
