Police rushed to Saughton Park in Edinburgh on Saturday afternoon (July 4) after a man had an unknown liquid thrown in his face.

Four police cars and an ambulance were spotted in the area, before an ambulance was escorted away from the scene by one police vehicle.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Edinburgh Evening News: “Police received a report that a man had an unknown liquid thrown in his face in Saughton Park, Edinburgh around 2.10pm on Saturday, 4 July, 2020.

“The 21-year-old man has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible.”
