Edinburgh provisional licence holder caught driving uninsured car with a broken tyre at speed

A provisional licence holder with no insurance was caught speeding with a broken tyre in Edinburgh.

Police stopped the car owner, who was driving a Ford “at excessive speed” in the Broomhouse area of Edinburgh.

The vehicle seized and driver reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A police spokesman from Edinburgh Road Police said: “The driver was a provisional licence holder, driving unsupervised, had no insurance & one tyre with cord/ply exposed. Vehicle seized and driver reported to the Procurator Fiscal."
