Developed by the Hollie Gazzard Trust the free to download app turns a mobile phone into a personal safety device.

A simple shake or tap activates Hollie Guard and on activation, it will notify chosen trusted contacts with user location, audio and video evidence.

The alert is silent with no obvious signs of activation to keep the alert as discreet as possible.

Another key feature of the app is the Deterrent Mode which makes it clear to persons in the surrounding area that an Alert has been raised.

Anyone who looks at the phone will see that GPS location is being monitored and audio/video evidence uploaded. Phone will display ‘alert raised’.

In a Facebook post uploaded yesterday, Edinburgh Police Division highlighted the benefits of the new app.
