Edinburgh street reopens after major accident caused bus diversions

Alternative bus routes were put in place temporarily while emergency services dealt with the incident.

An Edinburgh street was forced to close after a serious accident.

The crash happened this afternoon at about 3pm near Craighouse Road in the south of the city.

Emergency services are in attendance and nearby Myreside Road was closed in both directions temporarily, with buses also diverted.

Council-run Edinburgh Travel wrote on Twitter to say the road has now reopened.

Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
